Why do I keep getting copper stains?
Copper stains can be coming from a number of places, including but not limited to:
- copper-based algaecides
- copper plumbing
- heat exchangers
- source water
Also, an alkalinity above 100ppm is usually a factor. To prevent copper stains we recommend lowering your Total Alkalinity according to the Hamilton Index, and adding Pool Stain Treat every 30 days.

What does copper staining look like ?
Copper Staining looks like blue to green stains flush with the surface. To remove it, we recommend Pool Stain Treat. You can find detailed instruction on the Directions tab of the Product Page.
How long after using Pool Stain Treat will the stains come back?
As long as you continue to use Pool Stain Treat every 30 to 60 days and keep your water balanced the stains shouldn't come back. You can find more information in the Directions tab on the product page, and by reviewing the Hamilton Index.
Will Green Treat leave stains?
Nope. Green Treat doesn't contain copper, sliver or any ingredients that stain.
