Learn how to protect your salt water chlorine generator (SWG) from debilitating calcium buildup by using No Mor Salt Scale as part of your regular maintenance routine.

The Unique Challenge of Salt Cells  

Salt water pools are fantastic, but the environment inside a salt cell is extremely harsh. The process of generating chlorine creates high heat and high pH directly on the cell plates, which forces calcium to rapidly drop out of the water and form scale. When a salt cell scales up, it stops producing chlorine, which can lead to algae blooms. No Mor Salt Scale is specifically formulated to combat this extreme environment, keeping the plates clean so your generator can work at peak efficiency.

Prerequisites  

  • Ensure your salt cell is currently clean. If it is already heavily scaled, you may need to clean it with a mild acid solution or Scale Treat™ first.

  • Verify your pool's salt levels are within the manufacturer's recommended range.

Step-by-Step Instructions  

  1. Turn on the Pump: Navigate to your equipment pad and click the Start button or turn the pump to the ON position.

  2. Measure the Dose: Calculate the required amount of No Mor Salt Scale for your pool size.

  3. Apply to the Pool: Pour the treatment directly into the water, allowing it to mix thoroughly before it passes through the salt cell.

  4. Monitor Production: Check your SWG control panel to ensure the Generating light is active and the unit is operating without flow errors.

  5. Maintain Monthly: Apply the product regularly according to the label instructions to prevent new scale from forming on the titanium plates.

Troubleshooting Note: If your salt generator shows a "Low Flow" or "Inspect Cell" error shortly after starting up, visually inspect the cell. Consistent use of No Mor Salt Scale will drastically reduce the frequency of manual acid washings required for your equipment.
