Objective
This guide explains how to safely and immediately lower excessively high Free Available Chlorine (FAC) levels in your pool using No Mor Chlor™, making your water safe for swimming again without the long wait.
Educational Context: Why You Might Need to Lower Your Chlorine
Over-shocking happens to the best of us! While a high dose of chlorine is great for killing algae, excessively high Free Available Chlorine (FAC) levels can bleach your pool liner, damage your expensive equipment, and severely irritate swimmers' eyes and skin. Normally, you would have to wait days for the sun's UV rays to naturally burn off the excess chlorine. No Mor Chlor™ acts as a rapid chlorine neutralizer. It safely and instantly drops your FAC levels down to a comfortable, manageable range so you can dive back into your pool the very same day.
Prerequisites
Have a reliable DPD or OTO drop test kit to accurately measure your current Free Available Chlorine (FAC).
Know your pool's total gallon capacity to calculate the correct dosage.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Activate Circulation: Turn your pump switch to the ON position to ensure the pool water is actively circulating.
Test Your Chlorine: Test your water's Free Available Chlorine (FAC) using either a DPD or OTO test kit. Determine your current level and decide how many parts per million (ppm) you need to drop it to reach the ideal range (typically 1.0 - 3.0 ppm).
Calculate the Dose: For every one (1) ppm of chlorine you wish to neutralize, measure out 0.5 ounces of No Mor Chlor™ per 10,000 gallons of pool water.
Apply the Product: Add the calculated dose of the neutralizer directly to the circulating pool water.
Circulate and Retest: Allow the product to circulate continuously for 30 minutes, and then retest your FAC levels.
Repeat as Necessary: If your chlorine level is still too high after 30 minutes, repeat the dosing and testing process until you reach your safe target range.
Troubleshooting Note: Always calculate your dose carefully and start conservatively! If you accidentally add too much No Mor Chlor™, you will completely wipe out your chlorine residual and struggle to hold chlorine in the pool for several days. It is always easier to add a little more neutralizer than to try and reverse an overdose.
